Curtis R. Wendorff

Curtis R Wendorff, US Army SP 5

Curt enlisted on January 9 th , 1967. He completed basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina,

and went on to complete Air Traffic Control training at Keesler Air Base, Mississippi. He was

then stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama until deployed to Cu Chi Vietnam in July of 1968,

returning home on August 17 th , 1969, at which time he was honorably discharged. While in Cu

Chi, he worked as an air traffic controller on the army air base. While serving there, he was able

to spend time with other soldiers from Shawano. Sadly, several others were injured or lost

during that time.
